Today’s daily inspiration: Earl Norem’s Dragon-slayer. Best known for his Conan illustrations, Earl Norem gets my vote for best small sized red dragon. While the style is noticeably outdated to the art critic, you have to give Norem credit for coming up with an interestingly nasty dragon – with a bird like gait, ears that flare like several species of modern lizards, claws on its wings, alien eyes, and unmistakable aggression, the dragon has a well thought look that many modern artists miss. I hope the knight has some good insulation or that metal armor is just going to get him cooked…
